In case you're tired of looking internet forums to learn about what to expect with your infertility journey, then this book is a great crack that provides a simple perspective from a hubby and wife via alternating chapters in chronological order. However, this isn't a book if you're looking for very detailed medical details, Great having both points of views, I think this is especially a great resource for men on the infertility journey. Michelle and Chris's vulnerability about the arduous journey to make a infant is delivered in a brilliantly funny but a punch in the gut way. I really like how easy the book read and enjoyed jumping between both perspectives. I definitely recommend this to couples proceeding through the infertility journey no matter where you are in it., I actually found this book humorous, charming and endearing. Anybody who is dealing with male fertility treatments should check out this. Because someone who is, this is a very inspiring structural guide. It seems like anything you read only has the process of the woman. I do respect that but I am glad this book storage sheds light on the men side because I had not been sure how to deal with it., This book helped me feel " normal" in such an " abnormal" circumstance. Great for comfort and nice to hear the guys point of view if you have a tight lipped hubby like I do. Well written., Excellent read! A love story with good information for any couple considering Within Vitro Fertilization (IVF)
Funny and coming in contact with tale of one couple's travels on their road to IVF, as told individually from the wife's and husband's point of view., I have a tendency to be critical of show segments, articles and books written about infertility, having gone through almost every single facet of medical diagnosis and treatment myself. Of which said, I was happily surprised with how much I enjoyed Michelle & Chris Miller’s, Where Have got All the Storks Eliminated, A His and Hers Guide to Infertility. Typically the book is a honest, factually accurate, humorous and loving portrayal of the couple’s attempts to have a baby, struggles month after to month to conceive, eventual tests and procedures which resulted in a diagnosis of infertility, and their many treatment attempts from IUI to IVF.
It really is written in a back and forth style, from the point of view of both husband and wife, each and every step of the way. I found this to be particularly refreshing as we don’t always notice the husband’s (or substantial others) point of view simultaneously with the female going through it. Their own style of writing is conversational, together with his being more direct and also to the point and hers often providing a more in-depth look at what she and they are experiencing.
What comes through is their love for each other, their desire to get started on a family, their commitment to supporting each other as they understand each step in the labyrinth that is surely an infertility diagnosis, and the wish that they come your other side as parents. Not only is this their personal account, but it also serves and an Infertility 101 1er, for those just starting out or for the loved ones of the people struggling with infertility who want to better understand the process. Each test or procedure is accurately identified and there is a glossary of terms at the back of the book which is useful.
Their story does not gloss within the emotional toll that trying to become pregnant month after month takes, nor does it wallow in self-pity. They persevere in the face of white HPTs, high FSH results, a fibroid sighting (and need for operative removal), having no embryos to freeze following their first transfer, dropping hCG levels after having a promising start, a miscarriage, and finding themselves back at sq . one.
I will not mess up the outcome of these journey here. I suggest the book to anyone having trouble conceiving, or who have been diagnosed with infertility and is starting down their path of treatment, or to their family, friends and loved ones to get a better comprehension of what the rigors of treatment mean to and for a couple. It is a quick and easy read packed packed with insight, warmth, wit, and love., A buddy, knowing my struggle with infertility, gifted me with this book. Even though it is over 300 pages, I actually couldn't put it down and finished it cover to cover within 48 hrs. It had been truly a coming in contact with book and i also what I actually needed to read, especially the weekend after having a procedure done to with any luck , help our chances with having a baby. Not merely was the book very informative (Michelle and Philip seemed to run the whole gauntlet of fertility treatment), they also held absolutely nothing back, which makes it incredibly relatable for anyone else dealing with this mess. I caught myself both laughing (yes, infertility treatment can be embarrassingly hilarious) and sobbing throughout the book. Ultimately, the book made myself feel a little less alone in this process, but also gave me wish that it must be all worth it. If you are coping with infertility or know somebody that is, then this is important read.
